Cardcaptor Sakura is an award winning manga series that blossomed an award-winning anime cartoon. The show centers on a young girl named Sakura who is chosen to collect the scattered magical cards that escaped a mysterious book. She must battles the monsters that escaped these cards and has the help of her friends; but she must also contend with some saboteurs that do not wish to see all this magic simply sealed away. Sakura is aided in a very important and central way by the guardian of the book, Cerberus. She nicknames him Kero.
He is a sage that is child-like. Kero’s wildest characteristic has to be his mannerisms. In the Japanese version of the animated series he has a distinct Osakan accent having spent an inordinate time in Osaka in another lifetime. There is nothing more entertaining than a stuffed animal with ancient wisdom and a constant appetite for deserts speaking in an Osakan accent. Actually there is one thing more entertaining: that whimsical character speaking in a New York-New Jersey accent as Kero does in the American version of the show And if you would like to know why he eats so much and what powers he possesses then I encourage you to read the manga or watch the show because you won't find any spoilers here.
